Why cypress pine demands mulching
Callitris regrowth thickens into impenetrable stands across the western pastoral country of NSW, QLD, and SA. Stems from 30mm saplings to 400mm mature trunks. Carrying capacity drops to zero beneath dense regrowth.
Conventional chain-pull or blade clearing strips everything indiscriminately, removing habitat trees and risking ground disturbance.

Selective stem-by-stem clearing
An excavator-mounted TFK or TFX selects individual stems for processing. Mature habitat trees stay. Regrowth in between gets ground to ground level.
Pastoral carrying capacity restored
Open cypress pine woodland with grassy understorey runs cattle and sheep at productive stocking rates. Closed regrowth carries nothing.
Selective thinning to ~30–50 stems per hectare opens the canopy enough for native grasses to recover. Stocking rates climb back over 2–3 seasons.

Cypress pine is dense but not extreme — wood density ~600–700 kg/m³. Standard carbide tips wear at normal rates. No TRIADVANCE upgrade required for routine cypress work.
