Peanut Mulcher
One Pass. Haulm Down.
TMC Cancela mulchers destroy peanut haulm before aflatoxin spores multiply. Disease cycle broken. Field reset.
- Destroys haulm harbouring aflatoxin
- Shreds fibrous vines and stems
- Fast residue cycling for rotation
- Wide widths for broadacre paddocks

TMC CANCELA has more than 40 years of excellence and innovation

AFLATOXIN BREEDS IN HAULM
Why peanut stubble demands mulching
Peanut haulm — the above-ground vine and stem residue after pod harvest — harbours Aspergillus flavus (the aflatoxin producer) and Sclerotinia.
Standing residue after harvest provides the substrate aflatoxin needs to multiply. Each rotation crop following peanuts inherits the inoculum.

Mulch immediately after pod harvest
Industry best practice is shred-and-incorporate within 4 weeks of pod harvest. The TGS and TGI handle the fibrous vines that slashers leave tangled.

Aflatoxin biosecurity
Aspergillus flavus produces aflatoxins under warm, dry conditions in standing crop residue. Aflatoxin contamination is a market-access issue for Australian peanut exports.
Mechanical destruction of haulm immediately after harvest disrupts the spore-producing substrate before contamination spreads.

Fast rotation turn-around
Mulched peanut residue decomposes within 4–8 weeks. The field is ready for sorghum, cotton, or maize in the same season.
