Sorghum Mulcher
One Pass. Ratoon Stopped.
TMC Cancela mulchers grind 10–20mm sorghum stalks below the lowest node. No ratoon. Field reset.
- Grinds 10mm to 20mm stalks
- Below-node mulching prevents ratoon
- Holds 20–30% more fallow moisture
- Wide widths for broadacre fast

CANE-LIKE STALKS BLOCK PLANTERS
Why sorghum stubble demands mulching
Grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor) leaves cane-like 10–20mm stalks that persist intact through fallow periods. Standing residue blocks no-till planters and snags seed openers.
Sorghum ratoons from intact crown nodes if conditions allow. Self-seeded volunteers and ratoon plants compete with the rotation crop.

Below-node mulching kills ratoon
A TMC Cancela mulcher grinds stalks below the lowest crown node. No surviving tissue to ratoon from. The TGS and TGI handle the volumes on broadacre cropping country.

Fallow moisture conservation
Mulched sorghum residue holds 20–30% more fallow moisture than standing stubble. The horizontal mulch shades the soil and reduces evaporation.
More stored moisture at the next planting window means more reliable establishment of the rotation crop.

Wide widths for cropping country
Australian sorghum country runs from northern NSW through QLD. Paddocks are large and the post-harvest window is short. The TGI's wide working width fits the volume into the available time.
