Why thistles demand mulching
Scotch thistle, variegated thistle, saffron thistle, and milk thistle all infest Australian pasture. Each plant produces 4,000–10,000 viable wind-dispersed seeds.

Mulch at rosette-to-flowering
Mulching thistles between rosette and full flower destroys the plant before seeds harden. The TGS and TGI handle Scotch thistle's woody stems without stalling.
