Why blueberry farms need mulching
Blueberries grow on raised beds with narrow alleys. Rows sit 2.5–3m apart with bushes against drip irrigation. Annual pruning generates dead canes that harbour Botrytis cinerea, Phomopsis, and stem blight.

Acid soil preserved by fine mulch
Blueberries demand pH 4.5–5.5. Coarse mulch from spent canes can disrupt the acid balance as it decomposes.
