Citrus Mulcher
One Pass. Inoculum Gone.
TMC Cancela orchard shredders process citrus pruning and fallen fruit on-site. Melanose stopped. Fruit fly starved.
- Shreds 15mm to 60mm pruning wood
- Destroys melanose and brown rot harbourage
- Eliminates Queensland fruit fly breeding
- Holds moisture in the drip zone

CITRUS PRUNING IS A DISEASE BANK
Why citrus orchards need mulching
Citrus pruning waste harbours melanose (Diaporthe citri), brown rot (Phytophthora), and citrus gall wasp habitat. Fallen oranges and lemons breed Queensland fruit fly continuously.
Standard slashers leave coarse chunks that protect spores against UV. Disease pressure builds across seasons of poor residue management.

Process under the canopy
The TPS side-shift reaches under the canopy where fruit and pruning waste concentrate. Fine mulch denies fruit fly the rotting fruit it needs to breed.

Fruit fly biosecurity
Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera tryoni) breeds in any fallen citrus left to rot. A clean orchard floor is the single biggest passive control for QFF populations.
Continuous shredding through the season — not just at harvest — keeps the breeding substrate gone.

Drip zone moisture
Australian citrus sits in the Murray-Darling Basin where every megalitre matters. Fine mulch in the drip zone shades the soil and slows evaporation — more water reaches the trees, less is lost to the air.
