Why leucaena demands mulching
Leucaena leucocephala is Queensland's most productive fodder shrub when managed in narrow rows. Untouched, it forms 8–10m walls of multi-stemmed regrowth that cross the paddock.
Cutting alone produces vigorous coppice from intact root crowns. Each missed clearing event leaves a denser stand than before.
