TROPICAL INTER-ROW GROWS YEAR-ROUND
Why lime orchards need mulching
Lime trees (Citrus aurantiifolia, C. latifolia) carry the heaviest thorns of any citrus species — fresh growth packs 30–40mm thorns. Pruning waste piles up fast under tropical growing conditions.
Without continuous floor management, inter-row weeds compete for water and harbour melanose (Diaporthe citri) and Phytophthora root rot.

Continuous management cycles
The TP or TPS handles inter-row weed pressure year-round in QLD and northern NSW. Continuous mulching cycles keep the floor open for fruit drop, picking, and pest scouting.

Thorn handling without manual contact
Lime thorns puncture leather gloves and standard tyres. Manual handling of pruning waste is a real injury risk for ground crews.
Drum housing on the TOK and TOX contains thorny debris during shredding. The operator stays in the cab.

Disease pressure reduced
Mulching pruning waste destroys the structure melanose and Phytophthora need to overwinter. Fallen fruit shredded before fruit fly can breed in it. Fewer chemical interventions across the season.
