Love Grass Mulcher
One Pass. Crowns Down.
TMC Cancela mulchers destroy lovegrass crowns and seed heads in one pass. Seed bank shrinks. Pasture restored.
- Destroys crowns and seed heads
- Mulch suppresses germination
- Wide widths for broadacre paddocks

AFRICAN LOVEGRASS CHOKES PASTURE
Why African lovegrass demands mulching
Eragrostis curvula spreads across pastoral and roadside country in NSW, VIC, and SA. Each plant produces tens of thousands of viable seeds. Stock avoid the rank tussocks.
The plant outcompetes native and introduced pasture species across drier years. Once established, it persists for decades.

Mulch before seed set
Mulching at flowering — before seeds harden — destroys the plant and the developing seed at once. Wait too long and the mulcher spreads viable seed across the paddock.

Seed bank reduction over seasons
Each year of pre-seed-set mulching reduces the soil seed bank. Lovegrass seeds are short-lived (3–5 years) compared to other invasive grasses, so consistent annual mulching makes measurable progress.
The mulch blanket also smothers germinating seedlings on contact.

Oversow into the mulch
Cleared paddocks support immediate oversowing with competitive pasture species. Phalaris, cocksfoot, or perennial natives establish through the mulch layer and deny lovegrass seedlings the light they need to recover.
