OAT STUBBLE PILES UP FAST
Why oat stubble demands mulching
Oat crops grown for grain or hay leave fine stubble that piles up at high volumes. As cover crops, oats grow tall and fast — terminating them before cash crop seeding requires mechanical destruction or chemical brown-out.
Standing oat residue persists through fallow and blocks no-till seeders. Hairpinning at planting reduces seed-soil contact.

Wide widths cover broadacre
The TGS and TGI cover broadacre paddocks fast on standard PTO tractors. The fine stubble shreds to <50mm fragments that incorporate into the surface 100mm of soil.

Cover crop termination
Oats as a cover crop need mechanical termination before flowering to avoid seed set in the cash crop. Chemical brown-out has herbicide-residue concerns and resistance pressures.
Mulching terminates the cover cleanly without herbicide. The residue stays as protective ground cover until the cash crop emerges and closes the canopy.

Fast residue cycling
Mulched oat residue decomposes within 4–6 weeks under spring conditions. Cleaner soil surface for precision planting. Fewer hair-pinning issues at seeding.
