Raspberry Mulcher
One Pass. Canes Down.
TMC Cancela compact mulchers shred spent floricanes between narrow trellis rows. Spur blight stopped.
- Shreds 5–15mm thorny canes
- Compact frames for narrow rows
- Destroys spur blight harbourage
- Fine mulch returns nutrients fast

DEAD FLORICANES BREED DISEASE
Why raspberry rows demand mulching
Raspberry (Rubus idaeus) production runs on biennial canes. Floricanes fruit then die. Spent canes must come out before primocanes establish for the following season.
Dead floricanes harbour spur blight (Didymella applanata) and cane Botrytis. Standing residue carries the disease into the new season.

Compact frames for trellis rows
Raspberry trellis rows sit 1.5–2.5m apart. The TP and TPS pass through narrow spacings without wire contact. The TOK orchard shredder handles heavier prunings.

Spur blight control
Didymella applanata lesions on dead canes release spores onto new primocane growth in spring. Mulching destroys the lesion structure before sporulation.
Lower spore loads at primocane emergence mean less disease pressure on the developing fruiting wood.

Fast nutrient cycling
Raspberry canes are thin and decompose fast once shredded — typically within 6–8 weeks. Nutrients return to the root zone before primocane growth peaks.
The fine mulch also suppresses inter-row weed pressure across the establishment phase.
